How To Register

Registration can be done by phone by calling (613) 596-5783 or (613) 728-0038, in person at the Nepean Creative Arts Centre, 35 Stafford Road, or by e-mail.

1- Contact teacher(s) to confirm lesson time(s).
2- Indicate the number of courses to be taken and the Instructor's name.
3- Calculate the membership fee and the total tuition fee(s).
4- Attach cheque(s) and send to BCAM at the above address.

Membership

SINGLE MEMBERSHIP $ 20.00
FAMILY MEMBERSHIP $ 20.00

All students of Bells Corners Academy of Music must become members. As members, students registered for private lessons are entitled to take ensemble classes at reduced cost. Bells Corners Academy of Music Membership Fees contribute to administration costs. Memberships are non-refundable.

2010-2011 Private Lessons Fee Schedule

Fees represent 36 private lessons, from September 9th, 2010 to June 2^nd, 2011. To calculate the cost of your private lessons, please use the schedule below. Don't forget to add the applicable membership fee.

2010-2011 Ensembles Fee Schedule

Ensembles are given over a 32 week period. All courses must be paid in full at the time of registration.

Fees: $ 550.00
30% off for registered students $ 385.00

PAYMENT OF FEES

All course fees for the academic year 2009/2010 are due at the time of registration, either in full, or by a series of post-dated cheques. All courses must be paid using one of the following methods:

1. Full payment of tuition and membership fees at registration.
2. Payment of membership fees at registration, and 4 (four) equal, post-dated cheques dated no later than:

September 15, 2010
November 15, 2010
January 15, 2011
March 15, 2011

Tuition fees represent 36 private lessons or 32 ensemble classes between September 2010 and June 2011. Tuition fees for students entering after the first week of classes will be pro-rated based on the number of classes remaining until June 2011.
Please note that students registered for private lessons receive a 30% discount for their first additional ensemble.

Student Recitals

At various times during the year, students have the opportunity to perform in school concerts, public venues, Kiwanis Festival, fundraising events and R.C.M. Examinations. In addition to recitals for the students, the various ensembles offered at the BCAM perform two concerts each year, usually in December and May.

B.C.A.M. Summer Jazz Camp

The B.C.A.M. Jazz Camp offers 2 weeks of classes on jazz combos/bands, improvisation, and jam sessions. Various styles of jazz are covered. The camp is available for students age 12 and over with at least 2 years of instruction on a band instrument, piano or percussion. Auditions may be required. Teachers in Concert

Hear the talented musicians who teach at the BELLS CORNERS ACADEMY OF MUSIC. Concerts are held throughout the year. Our teachers perform in these concerts for the benefit of the school. Our next concert to be announced.

Cancellation

Private lessons:

All lessons cancelled by the teacher will be made up.

Students may cancel lessons once, but must give at least 24 hours notice. In all other cases the teacher is not obliged to make up lessons.

Ensemble Lessons: Lessons cancelled by the teacher will be made up. Lessons missed by the student cannot be made up.

NOTE: All of our faculty members are professional performing musicians and some teach at the University of Ottawa. On occasion it may be necessary to re-schedule lessons because of professional commitments. Your cooperation in these cases will be appreciated.

Where a minimum number of students are not met for an ensemble class, the ensemble will be cancelled. Where possible, students will be assisted in finding an alternative program.

Refunds

Full refunds will be issued for any course cancelled by B.C.A.M. Pro-rated refund of tuition fees will be considered when the student withdraws from private lessons only. Refunds due to illness (with medical certificate) will be granted.

There will be no refund for membership fees, or for courses given before the date of withdrawal. Requests for refunds must be made in writing to the Music Director. Students are encouraged to enroll early as popular time slots fill up quickly. Registration can be made at any time during the year by phone as teachers' schedules permit.

B.C.A.M. Educational Fund

The B.C.A.M. Educational Fund was established to provide students with scholarships, and financial assistance. The fund is sustained through donations, and the annual membership dues paid by all students at registration. As members, students are entitled to enroll in ensembles at a 30% reduction of the regular rate.
